Last May, the FDA announced it was reviewing data from several studies on the possible relationship between hormonal drugs for prostate cancer in widespread use.
According to preliminary data, said it had found a "small increase" of diabetes, myocardial infarction, stroke and sudden death in patients receiving this treatment.
Prostate cancer is the second most common cancer among U.S. men, behind skin cancer and usually occurs in older men.
This year we have detected 217,730 new cases of prostate cancer, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and National Cancer Institute estimates that about 32,050 die from the disease

These products are designed to reduce levels of male hormones, testosterone, thought to stimulate prostate cancer growth. The suppression of testosterone has been shown to be essential to reduce or slow the growth of prostate cancer. The warning should alert patients and health professionals of the potential risk to be given heart disease and diabetes in men treated with these drugs.
hormonal therapy is not a cure for prostate cancer because the tumors can become resistant over time, although it may prolong survival of patients.
